Dermatofibrosarcoma Of The Scalp: A Case Report
Résumé
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare, locally aggressive soft tissue tumour commonly occurring in the trunk or extremities, lesser than 5% being located on the scalp. Surgery is the mainstay of management of this locally infiltrative cutaneous soft tissue sarcoma, with a high probability of recurrence if the margin remains positive or inadequate. We report a case of a 52-year-old male, presenting with a large fungating haemorrhagic mass over the right frontoparietal area of the scalp, diagnosed as DFSP. The patient underwent surgical excision and rotation flap fashioning to cover the defect and is currently on adjuvant radiation treatment.
