Intraorbital Hydatid Cyst About A Case

Introduction: Hydatidosis Is An Endemic Disease In Algeria, The Hydatid Cyst Of The Orbit Is A Parasitic Tumor Due To The Taenia Echinococcus Which Can Present Many Localization Sites In Humans. Material And Methods: Neurosurgery Department Ehrsn Oran Algeria. Observation Of An Intraorbital Hydatid Cyst In A 3 Year Old Child. The Child Presents With Significant, Irreducible And Non-Painful Proptosis. Frequency: Orbital Location Represents 01 – 02% Compared To Other Organs (According To Various Publications) Age: Predominates In Children. Etiology: The Echinococcus Tapeworm Parasite. Therapeutic Strategy: Treatment: Mainly Surgical. Medical: Albendazole. Surgical: Removel Of The Cyst And Prevention Of Possible Local Dissemination. Conclusion :Orbital Hydatidosis Is Rare But Not Exceptional, It Should Be Suspected In A Patient From An Endemic Country Who Presents With Unilateral Proptosis, The Anamnestic And Radiological Diagnosis Is Obvious And The Treatment Is Only Surgical In Order To Preserve The Functional Prognosis.
