Abstract

Introduction: Craniostenosis Are Deformations Of The Cranial Skeleton Linked To Early Closure Of One Or More Sutures. Their Pathophysiology And Etiology Remain Largely Unknown. They Pose A Double Morphological And Functional Problem Include Cranial Dysmorphism, And Often Craniofacial, The Growth Conflict Between Skull And Brain Can Cause Chronic Intracranial Hypertension. It Can Have A Mental And Visual Impact If The Treatment Is Not Early Enough. Materials And Methods: This Was A Retrospective Study Conducted At The Neurosurgery Department Ehrsn Oran Algeria For A Period Of 6 Years (May 2017 To September 2022). Number Of Cases: 24 Cases. Inclusion Criteria: Syndromic Craniostenosis / Non Syndromic Craniostenosis. Exclusion Criteria: Secondary Craniostenosis. Results :The Age Of Discovery Varied Between 4 Months And 4 Years, With An Average Age Of 8 Months Sex: (10 Girls And 14 Boys). 24 Cases Type Of Operated Craniostenosis: Scaphocephaly 12, Trigonocephaly 4, Plagiocephaly 3 ,Oxycephaly 3 , Cruzon 1, Apert 1 Conclusion: Craniostenosis Requires Multidisciplinary Care (Pediatric Neurosurgery, Maxillofacial, Pediatric Surgery, Genetics, Odontology, Psychology, Etc.). Cranial Remodeling Surgery Must Be Done Early To Prevent Risks For Vision And Allow Good Intellectual Development.
