Abstract

Objective:  the purpose of this paper is show the current situation of neonatal brachial plexus injuries in Angola and propose solutions. Material And Methods: A population-based study was carried out in 3 rehabilitation centers in Luanda from January to December 2021, the data were placed in a database and analyzed using descriptive statistics by the SPSS program. Results: Angola is a country with 32 million habitants, 15 Neurosurgeons and a single brachial plexus surgeon; Birth rate is 5.44 per woman and about 750 obstetric brachial plexus per year we evaluated 367 pediatric patients, Ages from 1 month to 7 years old , Time from injury to rehabilitation from1 month to 7 years (Mean – 1.2 months), most C5-C6-C7 lesions, Good outcome (MRC 3 or more) – 63.4% .
