Abstract

Objective – To present a case report of a 9-year-old boy managed for pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. Methods – Case report in an oral presentation– Pre and Post-operative imaging. Histopathologic features. Case outcome. Conclusion – PXA are rare and preoperative diagnosis requires high index of suspicion from clinical and radiologic features Where feasible and safe gross total resection is the preferred management Histologic assessment should assess for features of anaplasia PXA have good prognosis Recurrence are managed by repeat surgery and follow up with imaging.
