Versatility Of The Flexible Endoscope: Case Series With Video Demonstration
Abstract
Objectives: The Flexible Neuro-endoscope has been useful for Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy (ETV) and Choroid Plexus Coagulation (CPC). To demonstrate the effectiveness of the flexible scope in various other procedures like Septostomy, biopsies, endoscopic irrigation, fenestration of cysts, aqueductoplasty etc Methods: Case series of pediatric patients selected for video demonstration for the various applications of the flexible endoscope in hydrocephalus patients. Results: The flexible neuro-endoscope achieves good outcomes and success in treatment of various cases of hydrocephalus. Better rates of CPC are also achieved due to the maneuverability of the endoscope. Conclusion: The flexible neuro-endoscope is effective for treatment of various pathologies and gives added access compared to the rigid scope. it is a valuable add on to the training of young neurosurgeons and to reduce the burden and complications of shunts.
